🦌 Moose & Maple and the CI/CD Pipeline of Sanctification
Snow sparkled across the backyard like millions of tiny diamonds. Maple bounced from paw to paw, tail wagging wildly.
“Come on, Moose! Let’s go test our sled again!”
Moose smiled. “Hold on, Maple. Before we take off, I need to check our pipeline.”
Maple blinked. “Pipeline? Like the water hose?”
Moose chuckled. “Not quite. I’m talking about a CI/CD pipeline—it’s how engineers keep improving their systems without breaking them.”
Maple tilted her head. “So… like when Dad updates his computer and it suddenly says ‘installing improvements?’”
“Exactly,” Moose said. “Only our system isn’t a computer—it’s us.”
What the Pipeline Does
Moose drew a line in the snow, with little boxes along it.
“Each box is a step in the pipeline,” he explained.
“First comes Continuous Integration. That means we keep bringing together all the parts of our system—our thoughts, habits, and actions—to make sure they still work in harmony.”
Maple nodded slowly. “So like when I practice patience and kindness at the same time, to see if they both fit?”
“Perfect example,” Moose said. “God’s Spirit helps us integrate what we learn from His Word with how we live. When something doesn’t fit—like grumpiness or selfishness—we find it and fix it before it spreads.”
Then he pointed to the next box.
“After integration comes Continuous Delivery. That means taking what we’ve built inside and living it out—delivering it to the world.”
“So it’s like when I finally stop talking about helping Mom and actually do it?” Maple asked.
Moose grinned. “Exactly. That’s delivery.”
The Sanctification Part
Moose brushed away the snow to draw a cross at the end of the line.
“You see, Maple, this is what I call the Pipeline of Sanctification. Every time we mess up, God doesn’t throw away our whole system. He helps us fix the code.”
Maple’s ears perked. “Like debugging?”
“Exactly,” said Moose. “Sanctification means God keeps refining us—integrating His truth, testing our hearts, and releasing new versions of ‘us’ that look more like Jesus.”
“So… we’re kind of like a daily update?”
“Yup. God’s love is the server, the Holy Spirit is the engineer, and Jesus is the perfect reference build we’re compared against.”
Running the Pipeline
Maple tapped the drawing with her paw. “So how do we keep our pipeline running?”
Moose smiled. “Three simple steps.”
Commit your changes.
“When you make a mistake, don’t hide it. Tell God. That’s like saving your work so He can fix it.”Run your tests.
“Ask: does this thought or action line up with what Jesus would do?”Deploy your build.
“Live it out—be kind, helpful, brave, forgiving. Let others see the update.”
Maple’s tail wagged. “So when I forgive instead of fuss, that’s like a new version—Maple 2.0?”
Moose laughed. “That’s right. And don’t worry, there’s no end to the updates. God keeps improving the design forever.”
Later That Day
They climbed on their sled again. The sun glowed through the trees as they launched down the hill—faster, smoother, steadier than ever.
At the bottom, Maple hopped off and said, “Hey Moose, I think we just delivered version 2.1!”
Moose winked. “And every run, we’ll get a little closer to the perfect design.”
CST Thought of the Day
“Sanctification is God’s continuous integration of His truth into our lives, and our continuous delivery of His love into the world.”
