CST for Kids: Building God’s Design, One Little Heart at a Time

Last week, I had one of those moments that makes you stop and rethink everything you’ve been building.

I had just opened a box filled with author copies of my first book, System of Interest: Me. My son’s eyes lit up — “Dada wrote a book!” he said, clutching one proudly.
Naturally, he asked me to read it to him. But within minutes, I realized… I was going to have to translate it.

The concepts — identity architecture, systems patterns, life modeling — made perfect sense to me as a systems engineer. But to a child? I needed to find a new language — one built on curiosity, imagination, and simple truths about how God designed the world.

And in that moment, the idea for Christian Systems Thinking for Kids (CST for Kids) was born.

🌿 Our Mission

To help children see the beauty and order in God’s design — in themselves, in nature, and in the people around them — through stories that connect Biblical truth with systems wisdom.

CST for Kids exists to bring the heart of Christian Systems Thinking to the next generation, in a way that makes it tangible, joyful, and rooted in everyday experiences.

Because our kids are growing up in a world of complexity — and I believe it’s never too early to teach them how to understand the patterns, relationships, and purposes God has woven into all things.

🦌🍁 Meet Moose and Maple

To carry that mission forward, I’m introducing a new story series:
The Adventures of Moose & Maple

Two dogs. One wise, one wild.
Moose, a five-year-old Labrador, takes on the role of the gentle elder — calm, thoughtful, and full of wisdom about the ways of the forest and the ways of God.
Maple, a spirited Corgi pup, is the learner — curious, impulsive, and eager to understand who she is and what she was made for.

Through their adventures, Moose teaches Maple — and our young readers — timeless lessons that reflect both Biblical truths and systems principles:

  • Cause and effect.

  • Cooperation and feedback.

  • Purpose and design.

  • Grace and restoration.

Each story closes with a simple verse and reflection, helping parents connect the moral of the story to God’s Word — and to the idea that all of creation follows His divine architecture.

🌲 The Vision Ahead

The goal isn’t just to tell stories — it’s to build a new kind of Christian children’s literature that teaches how God’s creation works, not just that it does.

We’ll be exploring themes like:

  • Identity Design: helping children understand that they were intentionally created — body, mind, and spirit — for a purpose.

  • Interconnectedness: showing how kindness, forgiveness, and teamwork form the “systems of love” God designed for community.

  • Cause & Effect: teaching moral reasoning — that every action has ripple effects, just as every part of creation affects the whole.

  • Adaptation & Growth: using change and challenge to reveal how God helps us grow stronger, wiser, and more like Him.

  • Purpose in the Pattern: showing that even when life feels chaotic, God’s design holds everything together (Colossians 1:17).

Over time, CST for Kids will grow into more than a book series — it will become a learning ecosystem:

  • 📖 Illustrated storybooks that teach through narrative.

  • 🎨 Printable activity sheets that connect story lessons to hands-on learning.

  • 🎧 Audio stories for bedtime or car rides.

  • 💡 Family devotionals pairing CST for Kids with lessons from System of Interest: Me.

Why This Matters

I’ve seen how systems thinking can transform organizations, teams, and even entire engineering programs. But imagine if we started earlier — if our children learned to see the connections between faith, purpose, and design from the start.

What if they could grow up not only knowing who they are in Christ, but also how they fit into the larger systems of family, church, and creation?

That’s the heartbeat of CST for Kids.
To plant seeds of understanding, wonder, and wisdom — so that the next generation of believers can grow into thoughtful architects of their own lives, guided by God’s ultimate blueprint.

🕊️ Coming Soon: Book One — Maple Gets a Home

The first story in The Adventures of Moose & Maple begins where every great journey does — with a new beginning.

When little Maple joins the family after a long road trip to Missouri, she learns what it means to find belonging, purpose, and peace — even in unfamiliar places.
And through it all, Moose helps her understand a simple but powerful truth:

“God always brings us where we belong.”

🌟 Join the Journey

This is just the start. Over the coming months, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes glimpses, concept art, sample pages, and reflections on how we can raise systems-minded, faith-filled children in today’s world.

If you’re a parent, teacher, or faith leader who believes in nurturing spiritual intelligence alongside curiosity and critical thinking — you’re in the right place.

Welcome to CST for Kids.
Where faith meets design, and wisdom begins with wonder.
